Ponniyin Selvan II, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had a successful first day at the box office worldwide. Even though the film’s opening was less than that of the first installment in the Ponniyin Selvan franchise, it still managed to outperform Varisu and Thunivu by a good 30 percent at the global box office. Over 50% of the movie’s global box office receipts, or Rs 62.31 crores, came from foreign circuits.

Ponniyin Selvan II Has Taken An India Opening Of Rs 28.25 Crores Gross
Ponniyin Selvan II brought in about 28.25 crores in gross revenue in India, of which 16.5 crores came from Tamil Nadu, 2.6 crores from AP/Nizam, 3.5 crores from Karnataka, 2.8 crores from Kerala, and 2.85 crores from North India. Even though this film is a sequel to the second-highest grossing Tamil film, on the surface, it appears to be a lacklustre number. The positive reviews should help the movie hold up well.
