India’s first electric truck has a battery pack with a 600 kilometre range when fully charged

India’s first electric truck: Bengaluru-based automaker Tresa Motors has introduced its first electric truck, the Model VO.1. The company claims that it is India’s first electric truck for the global market. Its axial flux motor is built on the platform: FLUX1. According to the company, there are currently 350.2 million trucks in India, which contribute 8% to the emissions. In such a situation, medium and heavy trucks with zero emissions are very much needed. With the vehicle scrappage policy coming in 60 and rising fuel prices, this is the right time to adopt medium and heavy electric trucks.

Biggest feature

The biggest feature of Tresa’s trucks is the axial flux motor technology, called the Flux350, which continuously gives power up to 350KW. This feature makes Tresa the only Indian OEM with such a power output. Axial flux motors are famous for their small size and light weight.

ITS BATTERY PACK CAN GIVE A RANGE OF UP TO 600KM ON A FULL CHARGE. WHILE IN JUST 20 MINUTES OF RAPID CHARGING, YOU CAN GET A RANGE OF 400KM. The payload capacity of the truck is 11 tonnes. It has an automatic transmission. THE TOP SPEED OF THE TRUCK IS UP TO 80KM PER HOUR.
