It picks up three years after the previous instalment and has Jang Uk going evil to defend himself and those who are important to him. He is now one of the most powerful men in the Daeho land since he possesses the ice stone’s power and can use the sword of Naksu.
Review of Episodes 3–4 of Part 2 of Alchemy of Souls
Jang Uk cuts the torturous thread holding Jin Buyeon under her mother’s thumb. They go back to Jang Uk’s house after announcing their marriage to the Unanimous Assembly and resolving to support one another. But Jin Buyeon realises Jang Uk’s heart belonged to someone else. The Queen’s dinner turns into the deathbed of the rumoured Naksu. Extinguishing the terror in the populace, and a trap to have Jang Uk leave Jinbuyeon unmanned instead confirms his suspicions.

Kiss between Jang Uk and Jin Buyeon
Jin Buyeon is shocked to see the man kissing her as she is trying to help Jang Uk by driving away the ghosts and encircling him with warmth. She brushes it off as him envisioning Mudeok in her place but is startled to see his deliberate acts. She assures him that she would put him to sleep whenever necessary.
