According to the most recent information on the proposed three capitals for the state, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy declared that Visakhapatnam would become the new location for the state’s capital. He said, “Here I am to invite you to Visakhapatnam, which will be our capital in the days to come,” on January 31 at the Global Investors Summit preparatory meeting (which will take place in March). Here are seven places in and around Visakhapatnam that you absolutely must see, regardless of whether you’re travelling there for the summit or just for a vacation.
1. Ramakrishna Beach:
This beach’s sand dunes extend the entire length of the main city. You can also explore the nearby attractions on Beach Road in addition to having a sporty time swimming and playing beach volleyball here. If you want to experience life inside a submarine, don’t miss the Submarine Museum, which is home to the decommissioned INS Kursura.
The densely forested Simhachala hills are 16 km from the city centre. On top of the hill is the well-known Varaha Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple, constructed in the Kalinga architectural style. According to legend, the temple is located exactly where God Vishnu stood to defend devotee Prahalada during the Narasimha avatar legend.
3. Borra Caves:
The stalactites and stalagmites in these caves, which are located in the Ananthagiri hills, are their most notable features. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority’s official website claims that these structures take on a variety of fascinating forms, including a mother and child, a crocodile, and even a human brain.
At 1025 metres above sea level, this hamlet is known as Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh. Famous for its breathtaking hills, lovely valleys, and pleasant climate, Lambasingi is a place to visit. Furthermore, it’s stated to be the only location in Southern India where snowfall occurs. You can take your time learning about the local cuisine, culture, flora, and fauna.
Tyda, a small village in the Eastern Ghats, halfway between Vizag and Araku Valley. The Jungle Bells camp right here offers the ideal escape from the bustle of city life. Keep in mind that there are no mobile or TV networks in the area.
6. Rushikonda Beach:
This place is the pinnacle of unspoiled beauty. A rocky shoreline and distant hills frame the breathtaking view. There are numerous water sports available here.
