During an appearance that aired Monday night on “The Daily Show”, Will Smith’s slap at the Oscars went viral in March. Will Smith opened up to Trevor Noah about this now – famous slap at the Oscars. Smith called it “a horrific night” while promoting his forthcoming film “Emancipation”.He said that he “lost it” when he stormed the stage and slapped presenter Chris Rock.
Smith was going through something that night
Will Smith said that “And I guess what I would say, you just never know what somebody is going through,” . Adding to, “I was going through something that night. Not that that justifies my behavior at all.” He also said that his actions made it “hard for other people.” And, was a painful act some people.
He said that,“And it’s like I understood the idea where they say hurt people hurt people”. Adding to, “That was a rage that had been bottled for a really long time”.
When Noah pointed out on Smith
Noah pointed out on him. He pointed that how Smith had written in his memoir about growing up being afraid of conflict. The talk show host also noted the negative things.
