Ravin Jain will begin the job at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix next weekend.

Inaki Rueda, a Spaniard, has been replaced as the head of strategy for Ferrari’s F1 team by Ravin Jain. A long-time race strategy engineer for the renowned car manufacturer.

Last season, Ferrari performed admirably

The demanding position will be started by Jain in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix the following weekend. The management of the Ferrari F1 team chose to promote Jain after the driver made a number of notable mistakes last season.

Last season, Ferrari performed admirably, with Charles Leclerc coming in second to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who won the championship. George Russell, their other driver, came in fourth. Leclerc lost out on a potential victory in the Monaco Grand Prix due to a poor pit strategy, and at the Brazilian Grand Prix, he was the only driver on intermediate tyres at the start of Qualification 3.

In light of the two dubious choices, Ferrari’s new team principal Fred Vasseur, who succeeded Mattia Binotto, chose to gradually remove Rueda from the position and replace him with the Indian Oxford alumnus with a first-class degree in physics as head of strategy.

In the six years since joining Scuderia Ferrari in 2017. Jain has advanced to the position of Racing Strategy Engineer. Rueda will stay on the squad and play a factory-based sports position at the Maranello headquarters of Ferrari.

Vasseur had earlier this year stated that he would make adjustments to Ferrari’s strategy staff and that he was “processing everything.”
“We are now reviewing everything. We’ll need to make some improvements, but it’s a little short notice for me,” Vasseur had stated in January of this year.
