NMIXX’S Jinni Suddenly Leaves K-Pop Group

NMIXX’S Jinni quit the K-pop group and terminated her contract with JYP Entertainment just ten months after her debut.

With the continuous rise in K-Pop groups over the past few years, there’s no surprise that companies have been churning out new groups every now and then.

However, with the new influx of new faces in the industry, there have also been K-Pop idols who have decided to leave the highly-coveted job after their debut, and that’s the case here.

The statement continued,

“We apologize for giving many fans cause for concern with this sudden news. As a result, we are letting you know that NMIXX will be carrying out all of their future scheduled activities as a six-member group. We ask that you give lots of encouragement to Jinni, who will be walking a new path, and we also ask that NSWER [NMIXX’s fans] give their warm support to the six members who will continue to grow and race towards their dreams.”

The agency concluded,

“Once again, we apologize to the fans who have given [NMIXX] so much support. Thank you.” NMIXX made their debut as a seven-member group in February of this year. After Jinni’s exit, the current six members are namely Lily, Jiwoo, Kyunjin, BAE, Sullyoon, Haewon.

Speculations Regarding Her Departure

And just like any other celebrity, Jinni’s departure from the group has also caused many dejected fans to speculate why she left, given that she had just debuted.

For context, she trained for six years after joining JYP Entertainment at the young age of 12, so to many fans, it was unlikely that she would “willingly” give up her chance at being a K-Pop idol after putting in so many years to try and debut.
