According to Kylian Mbappe club, the France striker will be out for three weeks after suffering a thigh injury in their 3-1 Ligue 1 win over Montpellier.
“After undergoing tests, Kylian Mbappe sustained an injury to the left thigh at the level of the femoral biceps,” they wrote in a brief statement.
Despite a crucial win at the Stade de la Mosson to extend his lead at the top of the table to five points, Mbappe had a difficult night that ended with his withdrawal after only 21 minutes.
Finally, goals in the second half from Fabian Ruiz, Lionel Messi, and 16-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery were enough to secure the victory, but manager Christophe Galtier will now be concerned about the fitness of one of his star players.
However, after it was adjudged that the Montpellier stopper had moved off his line early, the penalty was ordered to be retaken but Mbappe was again denied when the keeper tipped his strike round the post.
PSG will host the German champions at the Parc des Princes on February 14th, with the return leg at the Allianz Arena on March 8th.
