On Friday, Godrej Properties Ltd announced that it had purchased the legendary actor, director, and producer Raj Kapoor’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Chembur neighbourhood in order to build a high-end housing project. The Kapoor family sold the land to the company according to its regulatory filing.

The site is near the Tata Institute of Social Sciences on Deonar Farm Road in Chembur, Mumbai (TISS). Godrej Properties purchased R K Studios in Chembur from the Kapoor family in May 2019 with plans to develop a high-end mixed-use project there called Godrej RKS.
Over the past few years, he said, there has been a strong demand for upscale developments. We will be able to further bolster our presence in Chembur thanks to this project, according to Mr. Pandey.
