During Chelsea 2-0 victory over Bournemouth on Tuesday, the 23-year-old had knee pain. Due to a problem with the same knee that caused him to leave the game early in the second half at Stamford Bridge. James was unable to represent England in the World Cup in Qatar.
Reece will now be out for up to a month
According to a statement released by Chelsea on Wednesday. “Scan results have tragically indicated a setback for the 23-year-old,” the statement stated.
James Ralph, the Chelsea defender’s personal fitness coach, expressed his annoyance at the latest setback for the player after James was replaced against Bournemouth in a cryptic Instagram post that read: “I need to bite my tongue despite having a lot to say.”
Ralph subsequently removed the post.
After his injury, James posted on Instagram that 2022 has been the worst year to far. I just wanted to say thank you for your support; each of you is appreciated. I’m currently simply trying to manage the cards that have been dealt to me because it has obviously affected my mental state. I wish you pleasure, love, and serenity as you celebrate the end of the year.
Chelsea manager Graham Potter responded, “It’s the same place, so we are concerned,” when questioned about James’ injury.
It’s really too early to say. Over the following 24-48 hours, we’ll have to wait and watch. He reported feeling anything there; we’ll have to investigate further and hope for the best.
He was obviously quite unhappy to miss the World Cup. It dealt him a devastating blow. Today, you could see his abilities and the value he adds to the group. He is a top-tier athlete. Although you can tell from the outside, you won’t truly understand how good he is till you work with him.
