95th Academy Awards with seven awards including Best Picture, Best Director and much more

The movie won seven Oscars at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Lead Actress, and Best Supporting Actors (both male and female). It was recognised as a breakthrough for diversity in Hollywood due to its predominantly Asian cast.

The surreal superhero comedy movie, which was directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Also features Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis in significant parts. Anthony and Joe Russo served as co-producers.

How Did Everything Land Seven Oscars At Once?

Little did I know when I initially watched the movie on my best friend’s recommendation that a discussion between two rocks with subtitles could be so moving. And that it would go on to win seven Academy Awards in addition to my heart. The story is about immigrant parents who manage a laundromat getting investigated by the IRS. Include references to Ratatouille, hot dog fingers, a bagel, a multiverse of martial arts, and an honest connection with your mother.

When Everything Everywhere All At Once first opened in theatres. It wasn’t as well-known as the film’s name, nominees, rivals, and prize winners. It is a low-budget movie that had a slow start and a small release. Word-of-mouth, suggestions from friends, and a moderately long run in theatres rather than its release on OTT platforms are what helped it take off and become so popular. On a $15 million budget, the movie ended up making over $100 million. It faced competition from big-budget movies like Top Gun Maverick, Avatar: Way Of Water, and The Fabelmans, among others.

Histories Everything At Once, Everywhere, Made It To Best Picture

The Oscars have long been criticised for favouring prestige dramas and historical epics that drew a primarily white American audience. The Oscars have been working very hard to be inclusive over the past few years.

Michelle Yeoh won the Best Actress Oscar this year, making history as the first Asian woman to do so. The movie becomes the first SXSW international premiere to take home the Best Picture Oscar.
