Travel List of The New York Times; Kerala ranks 13th among 52 places to visit in 2023.

As we start a new year, people all over the world are starting to plan their Travel plans for 2023. To assist readers in selecting the ideal location to visit, The New York Times has suggested 52 locations that one can visit in 2023.

The top four reasons why people travel—food, culture, adventure, and natural beauty—were taken into consideration when compiling the list.

The study claims that Kerala, a state in southern India, is well-known for its beaches, backwater lagoons, cuisine, and rich cultural traditions like the Vaikathashtami festival.
The list also includes Kumarakom, a small village in Kerala, because of its beautiful backwaters.

Kerala, the only tourist destination from India featured, comes in at number 13 on the newspaper’s annual list of places to visit.

Pinarayi Vijayan, the chief minister of Kerala, took it to Twitter and said it was a recognition of the approach towards community tourism. “The @nytimes has selected Kerala as one of the 52 places to visit in 2023. Our exemplary approach to community tourism that allows travellers to relish Kerala’s rich culture and breathtaking landscapes have been lauded. Yet another exciting achievement for @KeralaTourism,” Vijayan tweeted.

London holds the top spot on the list, followed by Morioka, Japan.. Kilmartin Glen in Scotland, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park in the United States, Auckland, New Zealand, Palm Springs, California, Kangaroo Island, Accra, Ghana, Tromso, Len is Maranhenses National Park in Brazil, Bhutan, Greenville, South Carolina, and Tucson, Arizona are also among the top destinations.

The previous year’s “50 remarkable destinations to discover” list from TIME magazine included Kerala.
