Similarly, tourists from India are also going abroad to see shopping malls, beautiful destinations and state-of-the-art.
According to Airbnb, international ticket bookings by Indians have almost doubled in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2023. Between January and March this year, a large number of Indian passengers booked international flight tickets. America, Britain and various European countries were the most preferred destinations of Indians.
It is not only that international tourism has increased. There has also been a sharp increase in tourism at the domestic level. Indians are looking to spend holidays in different states within the country. It has been reveal in the report that people are preferring to travel in different cities and areas, especially hilly areas. Goa tops the list of most preferred destinations for holidays. After this, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi and Kullu are like the most. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, tourism has increased by 2023 percent in the year 110.
Not only Indian citizens are going to visit abroad. But foreign tourists are also coming to visit India in large numbers. According to the Airbnb report, the enthusiasm to come to India has increased among foreign tourists. They want to experience the rich culture and heritage of India. Most of the airbnb tourists coming to India were from America. It was followed by Britain, Germany, Australia and Canada.
Airbnb also reported that community, religious and cultural tourism has also increased in India. People are demanding a unique place to stay. Demand for places like resorts, treehouses, houseboats and farm stays is increasing.
Among the domestic destinations, Puri, Chennai, Goa, Dehradun, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Munnar and Nainital are being liked the most. At the international level, destinations like Bali, Lucerne, Vienna, Paris, Lisbon, Rome, Prague, Singapore and Bangkok are attracting people.
