He further added, “I strongly believe that streaming service providers must take such issues seriously and act quickly to address any instances of offensive or defamatory content. Additionally, streaming service providers ought to take proactive measures to stop the streaming of such content. This can be achieved through clear guidelines and rigorous screening processes for all the content published. In the end, streaming services have a big say in what millions of people watch, and with that power comes a duty to make sure that the content they provide is respectful, inclusive, and devoid of damaging stereotypes. This incident, I hope, will act as a wake-up call for all streaming service providers to work towards establishing a more just and respectful media environment.”
