The final episode of the docuseries Surviving R. Kelly, which debuted four years ago, will now be available in 2023. The last chapter of Surviving R. Kelly will deal with the fallout from the state and federal trials that Kelly faced and was ultimately found guilty for. The teaser for the film, which debuted on December 15, showed how this will be done.

While millions have read the headlines, the last chapter connects the horrifying fine print with unspeakable details never shared with the public, culminating in the verdict heard around the world, according to the official description for the Peabody Award–winning and Emmy–nominated documentary series.

Disgraced R&B artist R. Kelly received a 30-year prison term in July 2022, months after being found guilty on all nine charges in a prominent sex trafficking case. Several of Kelly’s victims spoke to him at the hearing and related their stories before US District Judge Ann Donnelly in New York handed down the punishment. Prosecutors claimed Kelly was a serial sexual predator who victimised young women, as well as juvenile girls and boys, for more than 20 years. The trial centred on the allegations of six persons.
