Satyendar Jain fell unconscious in the washroom of Tihar Jail on Wednesday night

Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain fell unconscious in the washroom of Tihar Jail on Wednesday night. Tihar jail authorities said Satyendar Jain suffered minor injuries. Reports of slipping and bruising in the washroom or bathroom are often heard. Many people’s bones are broken, hips are lowered. A head injury leads to immediate death as happened in the case of Aditya Singh Rajput.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau, there were more than 2021,20 incidents of bathroom falls in the country in 4 in which 106,3339 people died. There were 795 men and <> women.

Highest incidence of head injury

Frequent water falls cause more slippery bathrooms. Hitting something in the bathroom or falling on the floor can cause a head injury. Many times there is a risk of injury to the head from the place of keeping the tap or soap. This injury can also be serious and there is a risk of head injury.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 2.5 lakh people in the US fall into the bathroom every year, more than 80% of them have a head injury.

According to the report ‘Falls in the Bathroom: A Mechanism of Injury for All Ages’ published in the National Library of Medicine, people between the ages of 41 and 60 were most commonly seen falling into the bathroom. People who take drugs and alcohol, suffer from heart disease, neuromuscular disorders and diabetes are at the highest risk of falling in the bathroom.

Older people have weak eyesight, difficulty in walking is a major reason

Dr Sanjay Kumar, neurologist at Patna Medical College and Hospital, says that people over 60 have weak eyesight, difficulty in walking and balancing. In such a situation, head injury is fatal when falling in the bathroom.

Injury to spinal cord can occur

Falling into the bathroom can also damage the spinal cord. The injury can lead to paralysis if it is excessive. If there is an injury in the upper part of the spinal cord, it becomes completely numb. Suddenly the strength in the body decreases. The legs, hands or any part of the body do not work properly. There is no effect of touching anything or pricking a needle in the body. The ability to feel cold or hot things also disappears. There is no pressure even to defecate.

Internal injuries can lead to life

According to the ‘Falls in the Bathroom’ report, 79% of those who fall in the bathroom have internal injuries. The muscles are damaged. Blood clotting and internal bleeding are also not detected in patients.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar explains that senior citizens do not recover quickly from injuries and fractures. They have to take bed rest for months. Many patients go into depression. If they have diabetes and other infections, the situation worsens significantly.
