Satisfy your hunger with these delicious Jaggery recipes.

A healthy diet is recommended all year round, but especially during the winter months. We have prepared a delicious jaggery recipe for you.

How to make:

Step 1 Prepare Syrup
To prepare this dessert recipe, bring 1-2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat in a large skillet. Mix the jaggery into it and dissolve it, then boil it down for 2-3 minutes to make the jaggery syrup. Then quickly strain the syrup back into the pan.

Step 2 Roast the sesame seeds and add to the jaggery syrup.
Lightly toast the sesame with ghee over low heat. When ready, add it to the jaggery syrup and mix well. Then add cardamom and rose essence and mix well. Thicken the syrup well.

Step 3 Form the laddu from the lumps.
When the mixture is sufficiently thick, remove from heat and form small balls of mixture. Place on a clean plate to harden. store in an airtight container

Sakkarai pongal

Ingredients:

2 cup Raw Rice

1 cup Green Gram Dal lightly dry roasted

4 cup Jaggery grated

5 to 6 tbsp Ghee

20 to 25 Cashewnuts broken

20 to 25 Raisins

1 tsp Cardamom Powder

10 to 12 cup Water

1/2 to 1 tsp Kesari Powder optional

How to make:

Mix dal and rice. Rinse well and boil under pressure until four whistles sound. Meanwhile, add water to the jaggery and boil until completely dissolved. Strain the jaggery syrup and set aside. Place the frying pan on low heat. Add jaggery syrup and simmer until it forms a soft ball. Add raisdal mixture and stir gently. Heat the ghee in a small pan and fry the raisins and cashew nuts. Pour this into the pongal. Add cardamom powder and mix well. If you want the pongal to be dark reddish brown, add kesari powder and mix well. Boil the pongal until thick. Remove and serve hot.
