Sanjay Leela Bhansali is keeping the options to make both Baiju Bawra and Inshallah

Having directed movies like Khamoshi, Guzaarish, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavaat, and Gangubai, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the most well-known filmmakers in Indian cinema. Filming for the director’s digital debut, Heera Mandi for Netflix, is now underway. SLB had repeatedly stated his intention to adapt Baiju Bawra after Gangubai for the big screen. The director had already hired Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh as the movie’s two stars. And casting for the other two major Baiju Bawra characters was still underway.

He and Salman Khan were once planned to do this movie together

But, there is already a lot of industry talk that, if SLB can find the proper cast, he may decide to make another movie before moving on to Baiju Bawra. Inshallah, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is eager to revive. As a mature romantic comedy, the director intends to cast two of the top three megastars from the 1990s, according to a source in the business. “He is clear about using the proper names when saying Inshallah. He and Salman Khan were once planned to do this movie together. But things fell through owing to disagreements over money.

The decision to produce either Baiju Bawra or Inshallah is up to SLB at this time, and it all hinges on which movie has the best cast. After Gangubai and Heera Mandi, SLB is keeping the notion of directing a pretty light hearted romantic comedy open. He is more inclined to say Inshallah now that the romantic comedy’s whole pre-production work and music CD are finished. It all comes down to setting up the sets and starting the film. It’s not like he needs to work on a music album for Inshallah for months.

Expected completion date for Heera Mandi is October 2023.

Speaking of Heera Mandi, the show is now filming and is anticipated to be finished by October 2023. “The first four episodes have been captured, and there are still about 100 days left to shoot. Bhansali won’t move on to the next project until Hera Mandi has been adjudicated. Inshallah, he hopes to begin production on his next major motion picture, Baiju Bawra, by the end of this year at the latest. He also hopes that the stars will align so that one of the two projects would have the ideal star cast,” the person said.
