RRR nominated for two Golden Globes

S S Rajamouli’s period action film “RRR” has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award. In the categories of best picture non-English language and best original song.
The global domination of RRR continues with an entry into serious Hollywood awards season. Best Non-English Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu which has taken on a life of its own. RRR, based on the lives of real-life revolutionaries Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Has become a sensation around the world, finding fans among international audiences. RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR as Raju and Bheem. SS Rajamouli was named best director by the New York Film Critics Circle.
It will compete for best picture non-English language with the Korean romantic mystery film, Decision To Leave. The German anti-war drama, All Quiet on the Western Front. The Argentine historical drama, Argentina, 1985 and the French-Dutch coming-of-age drama, Close.

RRR a pre-independence fictional story
Stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR as real-life Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem in the 1920s.
RRR was released theatrically in March. Grossed over Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office. The Hindi version of the film premiered on Netflix on May 20 and quickly became the most popular Indian film on the streaming service worldwide.
As the film gained traction in foreign markets, it received accolades from Hollywood’s who’s who, including Edgar Wright, “Doctor Strange” director Scott Derrickson and writer C Robert Cargill, Joe Dante of “Gremlins” fame, “Guardians of the Galaxy” films director James Gunn, “Dune” screenwriter Jon Spaihts, filmmaker Christopher Miller, and “The Gray Man” directors Anthony and Joe Russo.
