Rohit Sharma is also the highest run-scorer for MI and the highest capped player

The Mumbai Indians of the Indian Premier League (IPL) announced on its official Twitter account that Rohit Sharma had played for the team for 12 years on Sunday. Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and the now-defunct Deccan Chargers competed for the services of the Hitman at the first IPL mega auction in Bengaluru.
Rohit Sharma is MI’s leading run-scorer
Rohit rewarded their trust by leading Mumbai to five IPL championships (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020) and two Champions League T20 titles. Mumbai would win the race (2011 and 2013).
With 4982 runs (IPL + CL T20), he is MI’s leading run-scorer and player with the most MI caps. With a 26-ball 50 in the IPL championship game against Chennai Super Kings, Rohit was named Player of the Match and earned the honour.
He has records for the Mumbai Indians in terms of runs, fours, 50+ scores, and Man of the Match accolades. He also has the second-highest amount of victories in the IPL while serving as captain (81 wins in 143 games).
“I can’t believe I’ve been with Mumbai Indians for 12 years. For me, it has been a really thrilling and emotional adventure. Together with our Paltan, young people, and stalwarts, we have accomplished so much. I want to express my gratitude to the management, fans, and team members of Mumbai Indians for their support. Looking forward to making a lot more memories and making our Paltan happier,” added Rohit.

The victory parade really began in 2013, and from then we just kept winning titles.
This year is Rohit’s 13th. This number has an intriguing quality. There’s just this vibe that something extraordinary is about to happen as we get started. It’s time to bring home #6, so hurry up Rohit. Before that, however, we would want to wish you well and express our gratitude for the past 12 years.
Mumbai finished last in the IPL 2022 standings with just 4 victories in 14 games and 10 losses. In this episode, they will be hoping to turn things around, and Rohit’s assistance will be crucial.
In the forthcoming 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which begins on Tuesday, The Hitman will next be seen leading the Indian team against Sri Lanka.
