Republic Day is approaching, it is excellent time to plan your long weekend getaway in January 2023.

You can plan a short getaway to various destinations in India during the upcoming long weekend around Republic Day 2023. Republic Day (January 26) falls on a Thursday this year. You can take Friday off and plan a four-day trip to a mountain or beach destination. We’ve chosen seven hot spots for you so you don’t have to look far.

Auli, Uttarakhand

Auli is a hiking and ski destination and after the creation of the state of Uttarakhand, formerly part of Uttar Pradesh, Auli was marketed as a tourist destination. It is surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, with a panoramic view of the peaks of the Himalayas.

Kutch, Gujarat

Kutch, which resembles the shape of a tortoise, is an erstwhile princely state of India that has retained its grandeur nature from the past. With its vast expanses of white salt desert, Kutch is probably one of the most beautiful, yet surreal places in India. During the winter, the Rann Festival is held everywhere, from December to February.

Munnar-Alleppey, Kerala

Munnar is a town and hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala, India’s southwestern state. Munnar is located in the Western Ghats mountain range, approximately 1,600 metres above mean sea level.

Puri, Odisha

Puri is a coastal city and municipality in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the district headquarters of Puri district and is located on the Bay of Bengal, 60 kilometres south of Bhubaneswar, the state capital. For Hindus, it is one of the original Char Dham pilgrimage sites.

Dawki-Shillong, Meghalaya

Shillong is Meghalaya’s capital, and Dawki is nearby. It is the best place to see nature at its best.
