The Padma Shri Award, the fourth-highest civilian honour, has been given to Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon for 2023. On the occasion of India’s 73rd Republic Day, the announcement was made. One of India’s highest civilian honours, the Padma Shri, is given for outstanding performance in a variety of fields.

Career in Bollywood for Raveena Tandon
For more than 20 years, Tandon has been a well-known face in the Indian film industry. In 1991, she made her screen debut in the movie Patthar Ke Phool. She has since appeared in a number of popular movies, including Mohra, Dilwale, Andaz Apna Apna, and Ziddi, among others. Tandon’s performances in these movies garnered her favourable reviews and made her one of the top actors in the business at the time.
Even though the number of films she appeared in decreased after 2004, she continued to act. Aranyak, a Netflix crime thriller series from 2021, marked her digital debut.

Tandon has had a successful film career in addition to being a social activist. She has worked to improve the lives of women and children while being affiliated with numerous NGOs. She actively promotes awareness of children’s rights and serves as the National Children’s Film Festival’s brand ambassador.
Tandon is renowned for her efforts to protect the environment. She has worked to raise awareness of the value of protecting the environment and has been involved with numerous initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development. She was chosen to represent Mumbai’s Sanjay Gandhi National Park as its brand ambassador in 2017.
Recent selection of the actor as a delegate for the Women 20 (W20), the G20’s engagement arm for women’s empowerment, was made by the Women and Child Development Ministry.
Tandon has training in classical dance in addition to her social work. Since she was eight years old, she has been training in Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance style. Additionally, she has participated in numerous dance productions and performed at a variety of cultural events.
Tandon has made contributions in a variety of fields and has a complex personality. She has a successful acting career and has worked as a classical dancer, social activist, and environmentalist. With the Padma Shri honour, her contributions to these fields have been acknowledged.
