On Rishi Kapoor’s Death Anniversary, Remembering His Top Films.

Mumbai: Rishi Kapoor, a seasoned actor, will always be remembered as someone who was vivacious. With the release of “Mera Naam Joker” in 1970, the legendary “chocolate boy” of Indian cinema gained notoriety and critical acclaim. The former actor and Raj Kapoor, his father, were also featured in the film. He was identified in this film as a lover boy rather than just another irate young actor in Bollywood. He entered a time when Amitabh Bachchan, a legend, made his debut. The late actors Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan set the tone for action-packed, one-man army films in Bollywood, but Rishi Kapoor chose not to jump on board and instead developed his own style of filmmaking.

On the anniversary of the veteran actor’s passing, here are a few films that help us remember Rishi Kapoor as one of the best actors in Bollywood who redefined the idea of a hero by shattering the stereotype of the role as an irate young man who can defeat his foes whether they number 4 or 400.

Bobby

It’s not unusual for wealthy families to arrange for their son to marry into another wealthy family. But when a boy falls in love with a girl who is not in the social group that his parents approve of, chaos ensues. The melodrama in “Bobby” is excellent and illustrates how even the most straightforward of tales can be told in a thrilling way. Each scene in the film was flawlessly executed by Rishi and Dimple Kapadia. Who doesn’t remember the iconic song from this film, “Hum Tum Ek Kmare Mai BAnd ho”?

Karz

‘Karz’ was a unique love story that gave the audience suspense and actual thrills. The movie’s plot revolved around the idea of being reborn and devising a plan for retaliation. The role that Kapoor played as Ravi will always be remembered as both iconic and irreplaceable.

Amar Akbar Anthony

We can better understand their real status and the types of films they used to produce. Thanks to the movie in which Rishi was paired with two irate young men played by Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna. When compared to the other characters, Kapoor’s character, who was the youngest brother in the trio, was all about love.

Chandni

Living examples of what on-screen chemistry looks like were Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor. Even though the late actress Sridevi played the title role, Rishi’s character captures our attention. The film was a huge box office success and included a tonne of timeless songs that we still sing when we are completely in love.

Yeh Vaada Raha

The audience had every incentive to return to the theatres after watching the romantic musical drama. The central conflict of the story concerns Vikram’s (Rishi) mother’s disapproval of his choice in a future wife. The ongoing conflict is entertaining to watch and serves as a lesson in how to defend your love even if it means going up against a member of your family.

With his films and persona, Rishi Kapoor was the one who spread love throughout the world. These films are merely a few drops in the veteran’s ocean-spanning filmography.
