When the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) opened in Mumbai on Friday night, Day One was all about the entertainment industry, from Rajinikanth to SRK, with a few politicians thrown in for good measure. Day Two, which took place on Saturday night, was all about the influence of haute couture.
The NMACC put a swish spell over everything from historical items that bear the creative imprint of John Galliano and the House of Dior to the Big Three of Indian fashion designers, Anamika Khanna, Tarun Tahiliani, and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Spider-Man Tom Holland, wore a black suit and a bow tie.
Zendaya, the star of “Euphoria,” topped the list of A-list attendees in a flowing, seductive deep blue sari with a playful floral border and a gold-embellished blouse, while supermodel Gigi Hadid embodied “a modern Devdas look with an ivory and gold sari,” according to “Vogue,” and finished the look with a gold bangle stack and jewelled blouse. Spider-Man Tom Holland, the boyfriend of Zendaya, wore a black suit and a bow tie.

Also seen were Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor (she in an embellished jumpsuit paired with a cape by Rahul Mishra), Anusha Dandekar(in vine-tinted lehenga with a cape and layered jewellery), footballer-politician Sunil Chhetri (in black sherwani and matching pants), Aditi Rao Hydari (in a heavily embroidered lehenga and an embellished white shirt), Lisa Ray (in chic white sari with a jewelled belt), and celebrated sculptor Jeff Coons, who opted for a long, knee-length kurta and cream pyjama set with jacket to complete the look.
