This year’s National Margarita Day is on Wednesday, February 22, and North Texas has several reasons to celebrate. In addition to the 1971 Texas election that ended the prohibition on the sale of mixed beverages, this year also marks the 52nd anniversary of the creation of the frozen margarita, which was first offered as a seven-ounce beverage for $1.25 at Mariano’s.
