‘Nobody had seen Love Sonia in India’: Mrunal Thakur
Mrunal was asked how it feels to move on when a film is well-received by those who have seen it. But the numbers don’t follow. To which, the actress said: “Love Sonia was my first film. I was very emotionally attached to that film. When it was released, nobody had seen it in India, at least not yet. The film received a lot of praise when we started screening it in Melbourne, America, Uzbekistan, and other parts of Asia.
Mrunal went on to say: I wondered why it wasn’t appreciated in my own country, and that’s when I realised maybe people weren’t ready to watch that film at the time. Even today, people recognise me as Sonia because I played Sonia. I can’t move on to the matter of fact that when a good film is missed, it feels bad. Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpayee, Riya Sisodiya, Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, Richa Chadda, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, and Sai Tamhankar also appeared in Love Sonia.
