Miss Universe 2022: R’Bonney Gabriel was crowned at a ceremony in New Orleans.

In New Orleans, Louisiana, Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel has been crowned the new Miss Universe 2022. Ms. Gabriel, the first Filipino-American to win Miss USA. Made history when she defeated Miss Venezuela, Amanda Dudamel, to win the international pageant.

When the winner’s name was called and the fashion designer, model, and sewing instructor from Texas received a bouquet of flowers. The winner’s sash, and a tiara, she was completely taken aback.

Sixteen contestants were down to only two, but Miss USA’s final Q&A response made the difference.

The three remaining finalists, which also included Andreina Martinez, Miss Dominican Republic, were questioned on how, if they won, they would endeavour to show that Miss Universe is “an inspiring and progressive organisation.”

Many people related to Miss USA’s response, which was, “I would use it to be a transformational leader.” R’Bonney employs recycled materials in her fashion design and also mentors victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking.

When she said that she would utilise “fashion as a force for good,” she also touched people.

She clarified: “I’ve been sewing for 13 years, and as a designer with a lot of enthusiasm, I’ve utilised fashion to do good. In my line of work, I use recycled materials to reduce pollution when I make my garments. I give women sewing lessons to help them escape domestic abuse and human trafficking.

And I say that because it’s crucial to invest in others, our communities, and ourselves while also using our special talent to change the world. We may spread the seeds of what makes ourselves unique to the other individuals in our lives. We modify them, and that serves as a catalyst for change.

On social media, users praised her response as “wonderful” and “on spot.”

In her official biography. She states that it is her “purpose for women and young girls to recognise themselves in me, and feel encouraged to overcome their goals by owning who I am.” She is also quoted with declaring that “ladies, age doesn’t define us.”

R’Bonney Gabriel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from the University of North Texas. She currently serves as CEO of R’Bonney Nola, her own line of eco-friendly clothes.
