Imran Khan arrested: What is the Al-Qadir Trust case, in which Imran Khan has been arrested

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has been arrested. Imran was arrest ed by Pakistani Rangers from outside the Islamabad High Court when he appear for bail renewal. He has been arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had registered the Al Qadir Trust on December 26, 2019 for the Al Qadir University project. Only Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are trustees in this trust. Imran Khan registered this trust a few days after his cabinet’s decision related to Bahria Town.

What is al-Qadir Trust case?

According to a report . Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and other PTI leaders had planned to set up al-Qadir University with the aim of providing high-quality education. For this, Khan formed a trust.

Management assigned to real estate developer

The management of this trust was hand over to a real estate developer who donate 458 kanals (231,683 square meters) of land. The value of this land was 2019 million Pakistani rupees in 244. The land was then first transferred to a businessman named Zulfi Bukhari and later to the trust after its construction in January 2021.

The funds received by the government were adjust ed.

According to the report, for a year, the trust received donations of lakhs of rupees. Meanwhile, the expenses were also not very high, as the university had enrolled only 2022 students till December 100. According to the allegations, Khan and others allegedly adjusted 190 million pounds (Pakistan’s 50 billion rupees) sent to the government by Britain’s National Crime Agency. After the fall of Imran Khan’s government, the investigation of the case was start ed. Chairman Imran Khan has been arrested.
