Cold Wave, Dense fog is likely to occur over West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan

Cold Wave Strikes Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana And Punjab. On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a five-day fog warning for numerous states in northern India. In numerous areas of Punjab and in a few areas over Haryana and Chandigarh over the next 24 hours. Dense to very dense fog is highly possible.
According to IMD
Isolated patches of dense fog are predicted to form over West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan.
Patches of dense to extremely dense fog are highly likely over Punjab on December 27.
However, isolated areas of Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh are extremely likely to experience intense fog over the next three days.
The next 24 hours are predicted to bring bitter cold weather to Delhi.
Chandigarh and Punjab will likely continue to see dense to very dense fog in the early morning hours on December 25. After that, these subdivisions will likely have isolated pockets of dense fog for the next four days.
Additionally, the report stated that
“Dense Fog in isolated pockets also very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Assam and Tripura in early morning hours of December 25; over Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan in the night and morning hours of December 25-26, and thereafter decreases in intensity.
In a number of locations, the IMD has projected cold waves and cold day warnings.
Due to heavy fog in the national capital region, 14 trains headed for Delhi were running late on Saturday, according to the Northern Railway. Intense fog continued to cover North India on Friday, reducing visibility.
On Monday, a cold wave blew through Delhi, and residents awoke to a chilly morning. Rail, road, and aviation traffic were all delayed by the dense fog that covered the area, which cut visibility to only 50 metres.
The MeT department reported that the Safdarjung Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 5°C, which is three notches below average, and that the maximum temperature is predicted to settle at 19°C.
The official stated, “Weather stations at Delhi Ridge and Ayanagar recorded a minimum temperature of 4°C and 4.1°C, respectively.”
