Babar Azam trolled as his 79 off 114 balls goes in vain in PAK vs NZ 2nd ODI

On January 11, the second One-Day International between Pakistan and New Zealand was played in Karachi. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was criticised harshly for his sluggish performance. Babar led the way in the 262 run chase with 79 off 114 balls with a strike rate of 69.30. He hit one maximum and eight boundaries in his knock.

Pakistan lost their ninth wicket in the 43rd over after coming in to bat at 6/1 in the third over. Babar continued to bat in the middle before being stumped out by Tom Latham off the bowling of Ish Sodhi.

Except for Babar Azam, every other member of Pakistan’s batting order struggled. Agha Salman and Mohammed Rizwan both made 25, while Agha Salman contributed 28. Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell, and Glenn Phillips each claimed one wicket, while Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, and Lockie Ferguson each claimed two wickets.

Earlier, Devon Conway, the New Zealand team’s opener, hit 101 runs off 92 balls for his team, including 13 boundaries and a maximum. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson, the skipper, scored an important 85 runs, including 10 fours. In addition, Mitchell Santner scored 37 runs to help the club reach 261 runs in 49.5 overs.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah took three wickets, while Mohammed Nawaz returned with scores of 4/38. Usama Mir and Haris Rauf each claimed one wicket.

The hosts were bowled out for 182 in 43 overs, losing the match by 79 runs, as the wickets kept falling on the other end.

After seeing Babar’s poor innings, the crowd shouted their disgust and questioned his motives.
