Red Fort – Red Fort

The most famous fort of India was built by Shah Jahan. Since he was fond of architecture, he built historical buildings not only in Agra but in many parts of the country. The king himself never got a chance to live in this Royal Palace. They had to move away from the fort only after 3 years of construction. Be it Independence Day or Republic Day, the Prime Minister of the country hoists the flag from the Red Fort every year.

It is the second most visited monument in Agra after the Taj Mahal. The Agra Fort was built during the reign of Akbar, but the credit for its current structure goes to Shah Jahan. There are many historical places like Jahangir Mahal, Jahangir Palace, Akbari Mahal, Khas Mahal, Angoori Bagh, Sheesh Mahal, Mussamman Burj, Diwan-e-Khas, Yamuna Gate, Machhi Bhawan, Diwan-e-Aam, John Russell Colvin Tomb inside this fort.

Moti Masjid – Moti Masjid
Moti Masjid is another beautiful marble structure located inside the Agra Fort. Apart from the Taj Mahal, it is one of the beautiful monuments built by Shah Jahan. It was built by Shah Jahan in the year 1647 during his reign and the mosque was completed in 1654. Moti Masjid got the name ‘Pearl Mosque’ due to its ancient glow. This amazing monument shows us Shah Jahan’s love and affection for architecture.

Jama Masjid – Jama Masjid
Delhi’s Jama Masjid is a fine example of Mughal architecture. This mosque is famous all over the world for its grandeur and beauty. Jama Masjid is the heart of Old Delhi at a distance of just 1 km from the Red Fort and is the largest mosque in India. It took a total of 6 years to build and it cost 10 lakh rupees to build it. There is a lot of crowd here on the occasion of Eid.
