Anurag Kashyap reveals Vikram was the first choice for Kennedy
Anurag even disclosed that Vikram is the reason the movie is called Kennedy while chatting to Film Companion. Kennedy, he claimed, is Vikram’s real name. The talented director claimed, “When I wrote this film, I actually had a specific performer in mind. Kennedy is the name of the movie because of this. Anurag said, “Because that actor’s nickname is Kennedy,” when prompted to identify the actor. The movie’s name was Kennedy Project. Chiyaan Vikram is who it is. Kennedy is Chiyaan Vikram’s true name. I made contact with him. He didn’t reply at all. I then got in touch with Rahul. I advised reading it. He reacted and responded with enthusiasm. rather than as an actor. In response, he asked, “Yeh Kaun kar raha hai?” ‘Karega?’ I yelled.’ He said ‘Me?’ I said, ‘Yes, but you will have to give it all’. And he was supposed to do some films. He gave eight months of his life to Kennedy.”
Anurag and Vikramaditya Motwane went to the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon on May 20. “And my Bruce Wayne @motwayne came to @festivaldecannes for #Kennedy,” Anurag said on Instagram. He wore anything Alfred @ishikamohanmotwane could provide for him, whereas I donned this sharp black suit from @manishmalhotra05 @manishmalhotraworld. We have our first-time producer @kabirahuja with us; the show’s director @cinemakasam is not here because he was on the other side of the croisette; and we are seeing “Killers of the Flower Moon” by @martinscorsese_. What a film, and I’m impressed by how consistently he delivers it.
