Anji River in Jammu and Kashmir is being the site of the nation’s first cable rail bridge, according to a senior member of the Railway Board. This bridge will connect Katra and Reasi. This bridge is 473.25 metres long and was constructed 331 metres above the riverbed. The bridge has 96 cables for reinforcement, and it was designed to withstand powerful storms.
Distance will decrease by rail:
The official said that at present the Anji bridge is accessible by road from Reasi town and its distance from Jammu is about 80 km. The rail will shorten this distance.
