Formerly well-known batter Ajinkya Rahane had been having trouble in T20s. He did, however, return in a stunning way with a new avatar. Rahane stunned the crowd at Eden Gardens on Sunday night during the Kolkata Knight Riders vs. Chennai Super Kings match with his unusual shots. Rahane astounded everyone with his bizarre shots as Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad put on explosive batting displays.
With four overs remaining in their opening innings, the Chennai Super Kings had amassed an impressive score of 169/2. Rahane entered the crease in the eighth over with the score at 73/1, but at first he appeared rather subdued. But as soon as Umesh Yadav returned for his second spell in the fourteenth over, he immediately put on display his extraordinary abilities. Using his full face, Rahane
Yadav delivered a back-of-a-length delivery that was straight, but Rahane mimicked AB de Villiers’ shots by twisting his body and hitting a reverse scoop for six over the wicketkeeper. Rahane responded to Yadav’s attempt to contain the damage with a perfectly timed cover drive that split the gap and sped to the boundary. Everyone was reminded by this shot that Rahane still possessed his entire class.
Fans are clamouring for Ajinkya Rahane to replace the injured Shreyas Iyer in the World Test Championship Final (WTC) with his new look.
