At the age of 71, veteran actor Sameer Khakhar, well known for his role as Khopdi in the television series Nukkad, passed suddenly. Due to certain breathing issues, he was hospitalised to the MM Hospital in Borivali. The news of his passing was confirmed by his brother Ganesh Khakhar. He disclosed that the actor passed away this morning at 4.30 am. The funeral for Sameer Khakhar reportedly took place at the Babhai Naka Crematory in Borivali at around 10.30 am.
Sameer Khakhar’s brother reveals details about his health
Ganesh disclosed that his brother passed away earlier this morning. He stated: “He had some respiratory problems yesterday morning; we called the doctor, who advised us to check him into the hospital. He was admitted to the ICU after we transported him to the hospital. Afterwards, he suffered from multiple organ failures, and he passed away today at 4.30 am. He was 71.”
His supporters were visible grieving his death soon after the word of his passing spread. Many people remembered how much they loved him. “Ohh I remember him from my youth,” a user remarked, “He did exceptionally well in Raja Babu as well as in the Jai ho movie. Lately, he did Farzi web series and Om shanti.” One more person stated, “Our generation will never be able to experience the memories that Guru, Khopdi, Hari, etc. formed a part of. Those underappreciated actors, those simple plots. What a glorious era. Shanti Om.” Another of the remarks stated, “beginning with Nukkad. Actors from bygone eras are departing one by one for paradise adobe. Om Shanti, I offer the family my strength and my prayers.”
Meanwhile, Sameer Khakhar also featured in shows like Manorajan, Circus, Naya Nukkad, Shrimaan Shrimati, and Adaalat. He recently made his appearance in the series Sunflower with Sunil Grover and Farzi alongside Shahid Kapoor.
